Reyna

Warning! May contain Son of Neptune and Mark of Athena spoilers!

Okay, who DOESN'T love Reyna?! If you're saying (or thinking), "I don't...", go stand in the corner and THINK about what you said. If you don't like her, read the rest of this post and see if it changes your mind. If you do like her, keep reading anyway. ;)

I would start with a character description, but we all know Reyna, right? She's the praetor of Camp Jupiter, daughter of Bellona, and used to be one of Circe's assistants. She's also from Puerto Rico.

What I think of her: Reyna is the wisest, awesomest, and most Roman character in the Heroes of Olympus. She's smart, logical, clever, and basically all-around epic. She can be intimidating, but that's part of her Roman-ness. She's a great leader and deserves WAY more credit than what people give her.

What she did in the story: Uh, what didn't she do? She doesn't get nearly enough credit.

Okay, so Jason disappears. Check it out! Only one praetor to run the camp! Wait... is that Octavian? Why, yes, it is! He wants to take over the camp and be Reyna's co-praetor (or praetor by himself, either's good)! Great! (That was sarcasm, folks.)

Then this Jackson dude shows up. Oh no. She knows him already. That's the guy who helped destroy Circe's island and left her at the mercy of Blackbeard and some other lunatic pirates. Sounds like a great guy, doesn't he? (Again, sarcasm.) Octavian says this guy is worthy enough to live. He turns out to be pretty cool and leaves for a few days on a quest. In the meanwhile, MONSTER ATTACK!!!!!!! AHHHHH!!!!!! But Reyna stays calm for the sake of the camp. If she panics, everyone panics. She fights. She's awesome. Everyone makes Percy praetor. He's not so bad after all.

Then the Greeks arrive... on their heavily armed warship. She is very civil, yet subtly threatening with them. When a possessed Greek opens fire on the camp, she is quick to defend her home.

Then Octavian goes on a frenzy, ready to crush the Greeks to oblivion. She can't really do much to stop him. Then she meets up with Annabeth at Fort Sumter and warns her that the next time they see each other in battle, they will be enemies.

Her motives: Reyna is a calm and wise leader because she wants the best for Camp Jupiter. She doesn't want the Legion to worry, and we can pretty much know that her home means a lot to her, considering that she had already lost her previous home. You also have to consider that her mom is a Roman war goddess, so her loyalty and stoical manner may have a lot to do with her lineage.

 In conclusion: REYNA ROCKS!

A little fanart for you to enjoy:
